Update June 2022
Written by Don Thomson 3 | 7th Jun 2022
I reviewed these notes in June 2022. Be aware of the wind farm 3 miles off shore with more to be erected a further 3 miles out. The harbour remains the same but the wind farm support is ramping up.
UPDATE SPRING 2021
Written by Don Thomson 3 | 5th May 2021
I reviewed these notes in May 2021. Be very aware that the off shore development is a moving feast and that any charting information (Navionics or otherwise) left over from last year will be misleading. No other changes.

Update 2020
Written by Bryant | 25th Sep 2020
Harbour wall and North Spit wind turbines now removed. Blyth Demonstrator Windfarm (5 turbines) next to the tall weather mast, approx 3 miles east of the harbour completed. Harbour notes adjusted. Thanks to Susan McGinty for the update.

These notes were reviewed again in April 2019. The prices have changed. Watch out for additional buoyage offshore in connection with the surveys for wind farms.

UP DATE MARCH 2017
Written by Don Thomson | 28th Mar 2017
These notes were reviewed by Don in March 2017. Nothing has changed here except for the dismantling of the wind turbines mentioned below. The Yacht Club is holding its prices for yet another year.
Update 2015
Written by dononshytalk | 9th Mar 2015
These notes were reviewed by Don in March 2015. Over the last few years there have been changes to the buoyage in the approaches to Blythe and the visual aspect of Blyth has been altered by the removal of the wind turbines on the East Pier. It is also worth noting that the aluminium smelter has closed down so there is less activity at the pier opposite the South Dock. These changes have been reflected in the text
