I reviewed these notes in April 2019. No changes. New chart. The observant among you will note the number of wrecks on this coast; all in deep water so no hazard but should be a warning that this is a hostile bit of water subject to some pretty horrendous seas.

Nothing has changed. I noted Barbados Billy's comment below. Sounds like Lundy in a bilge keeler!!
You have to stop sometime.

Filey bay is listed in the pilots as the first place to stop having rounded Flamborough Head, particularly if you don't fancy the North Landing. If you have made it from the Humber then you are probably wanting to have a sit down by now so drop the hook and have a brew. It is well protected in the right winds, particularly at low water when the reef starts to circle round. However there can be a scend and it can be horrible as the permanent tide always seems to hold you broadside on to it. How a six inch wave can roll your gun'ls under I don't know. I ended up laying a big kedge out to the shore side but what with the wind and tide it was rather a palaver. The next time I anchored off Filey the wind was offshore and it was fine with barely a ripple.

2nd para of Approach should read that this anchorage is open from the East CLOCKWISE to the South, not anticlockwise as written
