National Coastwatch - Herne Bay
Written by Uk1theo | 21st Apr 2017
Our VHF Working Channel is channel 65, manned by Qualified VHF RYA Licensed Operators so feel free to call us on this channel for up to date weather\local conditions or any other Nautical items we can help or assist you with.
We man a Listening Watch on all channels from our Watch Station which is open between 09:00 - 1700 hours during the summer and 09:00 until 16:30 in the winter time. We are here to assist you.
THE NCI WORKING CHANNEL 65 DOES NOT REPLACE CHANNEL 16 EMERGENCY CHANNEL BUT WE DO MAN A LISTENING WATCH ON ALL CHANNELS.

We maintain a VHF Listening Watch whilst the Watch Station is open (0800-1700 or 2000 in the summer) and our working channel is Channel 65, which is available to all to you to contact us for up to date weather\winds etc etc.

This does not obviously replace channel 16 service which is also monitored by the NCI Watch Station nationwide, but can be used to obtain information at any time.

Update Spring 2016
Written by dononshytalk | 18th Mar 2016
These notes were reviewed by Don in March 2016. Nothing has changed and any improvements planned by the local council involve shore-side and retail activity. There appear to be no plans to improving the facilities for the leisure sailor.

Update 2013
Written by dononshytalk | 19th Mar 2013
These notes were reviewed by Don T on the 19th March 2013. There are no changes; there are various reports of "improvements" and a pier marina but as yet they are just ideas floating about with little prospect of any developement until some funding can be found.
