They will do their best to accommodate you on a mooring (£15 per night) and then take you across in the trot boat to the jetty, which was running 10 am to 9 pm every day in May 2022. Drying pontoons seem to be for locals only. The town itself is not initially attractive with its range of old fashioned pubs though one is a micro brewer and offers pizza but if you take the rough with the smooth, the locals are friendly and obliging. The Queen Phillippa offers clean, refurbished accommodation and has a rather fine shed (lounge?) at the back with comfy chairs and a view of the creek. There are things to do and see on Sheppey if you look. There is an active yacht club with a helpful Commodore.
If coming up the Swale, the road/rail bridge is inclined to open on the hour if you ask. If heading out from Queenborough to the Medway and Thames past Sheerness, beware the roll-on roll-off ferry backing out into your path.

I reviewed these notes in March 2021. The prices will remain where they have been for the last couple of years and, if you haven't been back for a couple of years, be advised that they no longer have visitors moorings on the concrete barge. Everything is on a first come first served and it would be an idea to ring them if you haven't been here for a while because you will find it has changed somewhat - for the better.

We have been visiting Queenborough for many years as it is a quiet back water we went there 20/22/7/18 a very busy weekend & we have to say since the takeover by the community trust it has vastly improved the plans they have for the harbour are extensive & with more visitors hopefully they will raise the funds needed.
Staff were exceptionally polite, helpful & there organisation skills would make some of the larger marinas/harbours sit up and take notice.
Well done to you all keep up the good work we will return very soon.

A couple of weeks ago We went to Queenborough for the weekend. We arrived at around 7pm hoping to get to the Flying dutchman for some food and drink and catch the last trot boat at 9pm..
We expected at least 2 trot boats would be running as per the last time we visited
We called the harbour master when we were in the thames and was told to call on channel 8 when we got there and we would be allotted a mooring as the concrete barge has been de-commissioned.
We called the trot boat and after about 10 minutes called again and received a terse reply saying they will be there when they have finished. We eventually waited over 1/2 hour as we were allotted a mooring which eventually had 4 boats moored to one mooring no more than 100 ft from the pontoon. The mooring behind was apparently unsafe.
Apparently, I am told, the Council in their wisdom has hired a private firm to run things and they have refused to pay the service for the moored barge which reverts to a lighthouse for the harbour, "stupid". This means that there is less mooring for many boats.
Despite there being a regatta at Queenborough there was only one trot boat for everyone. Luckily it was extended to 10pm.
After disembarking we were taken to the office to fill out form before we can pay. More time wasted.
I must admit that I am not minded to return to Queenborough as I found the process unfriendly and lacking in quality as it use to be. Eventually many boats will not return and the businesses that rely on visitors will suffer, despite the good quality of food at the Flying Dutchman.

Improvement continues here and the number of moorings slowly increases. Price for a swinging mooring has gone up £1.00 a night. They have a lot of ambition here and it is becoming very popular.

These notes were reviewed by Don in March 2016. The Harbour Trust has now gotten things running smoothly but you should still be patient at the weekends as it can get very busy. Prices have gone up a bit.

We visited twice as a group of three boats from Felixstowe Ferry Sailing Club and the service was excellent. Friendly Phil in the water taxi when called up on Ch8, came over to take us to shore for a very good value carvery at the Flying Dutchman pub. Thanks Phil.

After mooring with à Sailing Yacht over 10 m the price for 2014 is 14 pounds. The Side say 12. Reqesting à watertaxi he was not able to us take to watch à football match at the pub with Some food to spend but hè was still operating until 7pm. This was not friendly at all. These notes were reviewed in April with the assistance of the new "Deck Hand" Phil Shaw. Chris's query (below) about the break in the all tide landing has been clarified (it should be back in operation fairly soon) Note that the public showers are no longer available and that the QHT intends running the water taxi again this year (again, complimentary within the mooring charge) They have introduced a new scale of charges which means that boats less than 27ft will only be charged £10 - above that will still cost £12.00
Note also that the "Deck Hand" keeps a listening watch on VHF #08 when he's out on the water
