UPDATE AUGUST 2022
Written by Don Thomson 3 | 23rd Aug 2022
I reviewed these notes in August 2022. There has been a new Nav light established on the No 2 Pier within the Ro-Ro complex (details have been added to the text but not yet on the UKHO charts. Details of the Newton Marina have been added but the visiting cruiser would be better served by going into the Inner Harbour pontoons. There's still a fair amount of work being done around the harbour and you would be advised to consult the Notices to Mariners on the Harbour website.
UPDATE SUMMER 2021
Written by Don Thomson 3 | 16th Jul 2021
I reviewed these notes in July 2021. BIG changes; they've finished the new marina behind Goat Island. We've included new images in our galleries and a new harbour chartlet in the Berthing Section. UKHO's latest chart shows the new marina and we have a screen shot of the resultant Visichart in the Nav Gallery. There's a new link to this years Port Year book for the Marinas.

Update Summer 2019
Written by Don Thomson 3 | 5th Jul 2019
These notes were reviewed in July 2019. Firstly the prices have changed and these have been noted. Importantly they are building a new marina behind Goat Island (Eilean na Gobnair) and dredging started there in May of this year. Additionally there is a new SCM off the Beasts of Holm (where the HMY Iolaire came to grief at the end of WWI) and a new yellow(lit) Special Mark has been laid to the SE of No3 Pier. We have shown these on the charts in our gallery.
UPDATE APRIL 2017
Written by Don Thomson | 18th Apr 2017
I reviewed these notes in April 2017. The poles marking the shallows to the West of the Marina pontoons are now shown on the Admiralty chart and are lit. They've put the price up for 2017 to £2.40 pmpn.
