Update Spring 2016

These notes were reviewed by Don in April 2016. Nothing changes here but we did contact the Youth Hostel and confirm the availability of showers.

Bad experience in Boscastle
Written by Cormorant's Flight | 29th Jul 2014
We got stuck in Boscastle in a strong SW gale, only being 25' motor boat we decided to weather the storm. Overnight we floated for 5 mins, then were on the bottom for 5 mins as the surge came and went. Most scary was when a local came along at 01-30 hrs to ask if we were planning on staying aboard.... Yes we were! Well, we lose a boat every year here was his reply! Once one rope goes, that will be it! If you survive the night I've got some 3 inch ropes at my cottage if you want them! We did survive the night and made a safe passage in SW 7 -8 the following day. So glad to make the safety of the Camel Estuary.
