Hello, I am Andrew Edmond, of Compass Marine Yacht Surveys, and I provide a full range of marine surveys on sailing and motor yachts and small commercial vessels along the South Coast of the UK and in Europe.
I will go the extra mile to provide excellent quality and value for money, whether you are buying, selling, refitting, building or just maintaining your yacht and whether it is wooden, steel, aluminium or GRP/FRP, 5 meters or 50 meters long.
Here is a recent, unsolicited testimonial from a Danish client buying a boat in the UK. I did a pre-purchase survey and then assisted him in obtaining estimates for repairs that were needed:
"I would like to express my gratitude for all the work you have done. I could not be happier to have had the luck to have you as a surveyor, who knows what we would have got into otherwise. Thank you very much for the great support!"
Supervision and yacht management
As well as routine surveys and partial surveys, I also provide supervision of new builds, refits and other repairs and yacht management. I am currently managing an extensive refit of a Victoria 34 in the Solent as well as a 1932 Cardnell mahogany on oak yawl and a Mitchell 28. I recently managed the almost complete re-build in Athens of a 35m / 112ft mahogany motor yacht, originally built in 1942.
In each of these recent cases, I did a pre-purchase survey first.
Survey Types include:
Pre-purchase, or pre-sale full condition, surveys
Insurance surveys, Damage surveys, Tonnage surveys
Coding surveys of commercial vessels
Partial surveys, including hull plating thickness (steel), moisture (FRP/GRP) and rigging surveys or simply detecting the cause of a problem such as water ingress.
All my surveys include
· Thorough vessel inspection conducted to the highest industry standards, using specialist
· Succinct, accurate and relevant reports with specification for any specialist repairs
· Help with survey arrangements
· Advice and guidance throughout the process
