Great escape from the weather
Written by Bryn608 | 7th May 2025
After aborting the approach to Bideford due to the weather, headed to Clovelly. A bit of a bumpy approach in a north easterly but as soon as round the pier head it was fine. Literally drove up on to the sand as there was not much water. The visitors moorings are further in, closer to the pub, so there was only water about an hour either side of HW. Easy enough to sort fees at the pub. Still £15 with electric if you want it. There is a “sailors room” adjacent to one of the guest rooms on the quay with shower and toilet. For the price you can’t go wrong.

UPDATE SPRING 2018

As lovely as ever. their price per boat has gone up to a wicked £9 a day!! Looks as though there are a couple more lobster boats more than there used to be but you'll still be able to tuck in beyond the steps and leave them with the end of the pier.

These notes were reviewed by Don in April 2016. This place remains delightful and there are seldom any changes.
